The Alleyman’s Tarot
The Alleyman’s Tarot started it all in 2021 when it took Kickstarter by storm and became the most-funded, most-backed divination crowdfunder ever, with just over 19,000 backers and $1.4 million raised.
A 137-card tarot deck, licensed card by card from pre-existing tarot decks, museums, and from artists directly, the Alleyman’s Tarot codified the Magpie/Chaos deck of mixed up cards from different sources by giving people a base to work from.
The Alleyman mythology behind the deck, this titular character who in the lore collected it, sparked many minds to wonder.
The Alleyman Podcast
And wonder they did, prompting Seven to dive into the myth behind the deck’s story. Over a 13-episode fictional podcast, Seven explored the Alleyman Myth through mouthpiece Dr. Ala Okoye. A religious studies and cultural anthropology professor in Chicago, Dr. Okoye ran his own podcast, Urban Mythologies.
Across this fictional podcast and others, Seven asks who has the right to tell a story as Dr. Okoye grapples with the way his academic lens bears authority over the Alleyman mythology, which seems to be claimed by many.

The Alleyway Oracles
The Alleyway Oracles came around as a sequel project of three decks: The Alleyway Tarot, the Oracle of Play, and the Oracle of Secrets. It offered a pilot episode of the second season of the podcast pushing the mythology further, but the second season has not been made. Still, the new decks were well-received and explored new packaging options.
The Enamel Pins
A series of Enamel Pins featuring the Alleyman, the Alleyway Oracle, and tarot-style card pins have released in the years since the Alleyman’s Tarot. At this time, three Deaths, the Star, Sun, and Moon, as well as three strange cards from the Alleyman’s Tarot have received pins, as has Justice.
In the latest campaign, The Wheel, The High Priestess, and The Hierophant have received pins as well.
