HISTORIC: The Road Eternal

This unique TTRPG is run on cards and dice, no character sheets needed. Even the Story Leader, the Keeper, can come to the table with no plans. With cards to represent your actions, gear, and dungeon delve spaces and run-ins, the game is good to go out of the box.

3-5 players claim one of seven classes, called Roads, choosing one of the two paths in each Road to customize their character’s abilities and themes. Then, using your decks of cards, trackers on your class’s deck box, and your dice, you will Ride the Road to escape an annihilating sun, make camp to rest, and dive into the dungeons for resources, tools, and lost relics to carry on our journey.

At the end of each game, and when players lose their characters, stickers are added to cards, extending your character’s legacy into future playthroughs.

HISTORIC is a deeper game than Zoetrope or What We Possess, and will require more time with the rulebook on first playthroughs. The result is a richer, deeper game.

Players are Betrayers, Ensu who have chosen to leave the safety of the underground cities and thus been shunned by other Ensu, the animal-like beings who populate this world. Some Betrayers left to find answers, some to kill gods. And there are gods to kill.

Many years ago, the Aeons arrived, strange swirling rings of power who sing to their sun god. At first, they were allies. Then, their goals were revealed. Ensu souls are powerful and easily manipulated and claimed. With their soul-song, they will be able to awaken their god from its incredible slumber.

But even as Ensu escape underground to relative safety, other, darker things awaken in the deep, hungering for those same souls.

Journey to grow your power, find lost relics, and gather the tools you need to kill the gods that want your souls.
