New Avernus is a pre/post-apocalyptic city building board game where players race to build strong foundations before calamity strikes, and it strikes again, again, and again.
You are the Koukyla, a race of mannequin-like beings whose only purpose in life is to build the perfect society. But your god smashes down what you build over and over until your buildings stand the apocalypse. You have faith that one day you will make the society you were meant to make, the perfect one, and then the organics will come to populate it and your god will reward you. Yes, it will happen someday. Someday…
1-4 players race to uncover resources and building plans from the ruins of previous world, using their workers carefully to gather stone and glass before building your new city on your board. You have limited time to build the greatest city before the Meteor hits, signalling the end of the game. Total the points you have left, and that’s game.
With four unique factions with unique abilities and structures of their own, each play will unveil new strategies for the game.
An included 30-card oracle deck facilitates solo-play.
